It has been my pleasure to go to the mountains in two different Asian Countries for hunting and adventure with professional Guide, Cuneyt Akkasoglu.
Cuneyt’s knowledge of the Mountain animals, the hunting areas and the successful hunting techniques has been outstanding!
We have been very successful.
I highly recommend Cuneyt for hunting Asian Countries Mountain game.
You will find him excellent for Bow hunting or other type weapons. Cuneyt is very knowledgeable, trustworthy, honest and caring.
I first met Cüneyt in December 2016. He was my Professional Hunter during a fantastic Bezoar ibex hunt near Antalya, Turkey, where he helped me take a 51” (130cm) ibex. I had such a good hunt, I immediately booked a Dagestan Tur hunt for 2017, on the condition that Cüneyt be my PH. And we took a 35 1/2” Tur on the second day. Cüneyt is a consummate professional. He is intelligent, articulate, hard-working and a real predator. He has my respect and my highest recommendation.
The moment that I first shook Cuneyt’s hand, I knew I was in for a great hunt. I was not to be disappointed, as 24 hours later we were photographing my beautiful Bezoar Ibex! A truly textbook hunt, with a result completely beyond my wildest imagination. As a bowhunter, it is extremely critical to have a guide who truly understands bowhunting and its unique challenges. Cuneyt has been blessed with the opportunities to guide many bowhunters to dream trophies in some of the most challenging environments in the hunting world, over many seasons. Cuneyt’s professionalism; friendly character; strong work ethic and experience as a mountain hunter are unmatched. I have hunted with very few men of his caliber during my life. I look forward to many more adventures with Cuneyt with bow in hand in the future!
I spent 20 days in Turkey hunting Ibex with Cuneyt. It was a real pleasure hunting with someone who is not only a great guy but is familiar with the people and the areas where the animals live. I wouldn’t hesitate to hunt with my friend Cuneyt again in any Asian country.
I am a Spanish hunter who has been guided by Cuneyt, and I can only say that thanks to his help and his knowledge of the environment, everything went as I expected. In the days when we were hunting everything was relaxed and very happy, so whoever hunts with him is in good hands.
I had a great time hunting with Cuneyt. He is a professional guide with great knowledge of the animals, the area, and the local culture. I would not hesitate to hunt with him again in the future.
It is with great pleasure that I write on behalf of Cuneyt of Optimum Hunting. I have had the opportunity to hunt with Cuneyt on two occasions in pursuit of Bezoar Ibex and Dagestan Tur while he was affiliated with another outfitter. On each occasion I was more than pleased with his performance not only as a hunting guide but also as a human being. He was at all times professional & conscientious while also advocating on behalf of me to be certain I had the experience of a lifetime. During my first trip to Turkey I had the normal butterflies which are common with such an undertaking, however upon being greeted at the airport by Cuneyt all anxiety vanished. Cuneyt has immense talent and has learned from the best which is the foundation for success. I look forward to once again hunting with my friend and have no reservations in giving him my highest recommendation. Best of luck and success in your latest endeavor as Optimum Hunting.
My trip started with Cuneyt saving my Bezoar Ibex hunt from disaster. After arriving in Turkey late on a Friday night I discovered that my bag had not made it out of Chicago. While my rifle case had made it, my ammo was in the bag that was left behind.
Stores would not reopen until Monday and to make matters worse bad weather was moving into the hunting area. Cuneyt jumped into action at the airport, working with the local airport personnel and security he arranged for my bag to be held in a safe place when it finally did arrive a few days later. In the meantime, he was able to secure a rifle, ammunition and clothing for me which allowed us to hit the road immediately and begin the hunt before the weather moved in. None of this was easy in a small Central Turkish town in the middle of the night. Even before we hit the mountain I was grateful that I was working with Cuneyt.
We arrived in at camp late at night and quickly jumped into bed as we had an early wake up the next morning. We were bunked in a small cottage which was quite comfortable with a separate bedroom, plenty of heat, showers, etc. The food during the hunt was exceptional, far exceeding my expectations. My concerns for the potential success of the hunt took another hit when I spoke to a hunter in camp that had been there for the better part of a week without having seen a shooter quality ibex. We were at the tail end of the hunting season, so we had to be prepared to act quickly if we spotted ibex.
While my hunt started off with a bit of bad luck at the airport, it was quickly reversed as soon as we got out in the field. We glassed a number of ibex groups over the course of the first morning with some great billies, but all were in areas that would have been tough to approach. After a lunch in the field we spotted another group at the top of a mountain. Cuneyt and I started our hike up the steep face. Despite being in decent shape the climb was tough with a lot of loose areas that made it difficult for those of us that don’t spend our lives climbing. Cuneyt led the stalk navigating the swirling wind and we were able to get a shot at approx. 300 meters as the ibex worked its way up the face of an opposing mountain. My ibex taped out at 43 inches and I was absolutely thrilled with the experience and the trophy. Tremendous success after only a few hours in the field.
After cleaning up camp the following day Cuneyt was kind enough to allow me to tag along for the 8 hour drive to his home town of Antalya. While the hunt was over, he helped me find accommodations, rearranged my flights with Turkish Airlines and set me up with a great guide for the few unexpected days that I ended up having in Istanbul.
I can’t say enough about my experience hunting with Cuneyt. He’s a very knowledgeable guide and also a great guy that you will enjoy spending time with. I plan on hunting with him again in the years to come.
Trophée du tonnerre. Merci à l’équipe d’Optimum Hunting pour leur professionnalisme et leur sympathie.
